The Community Water Resources Coordinator is primarily responsible for water conservation programs, events, education, public relations, preparation of outreach materials; updates and maintenance of the Company's website and social media presence for Liberty Utilities.  This position coordinates Company events and workshops and is responsible to recruit volunteers, guest speakers or qualified trainers as needed.  This position is responsible for updating and maintaining accurate information on the regional website pages.  This position requires some traveling and is required to be available for utility emergencies.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Water Resource
  • Develops and implements water conservation programs
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for water conservation practices and procedures
  • Reviews and prepares comments on Best Management Practices
  • Prepares and conducts conservation education programs to community groups, homeowner associations, and other organizations
  • Prepares and files necessary reports such as Consumer Confidence Reports, Drought Contingency Plans
  • Prepares, recommends, tracks and spends an appropriate annual budget for conservation activities
  • Keeps abreast of current developments, trends and legislative action in the water conservation field
  • May serve on local, regional and/or state panels and committees relation to conservation
  • Orders and provides appropriate conservation education materials and supplies for customers
  • Handles customer inquiries about water conservation
Communication and Public Relations
  • Attends customer events and speaks on behalf of the Company.  Work to promote a positive Company reputation
  • Assists in the development and implementation of public information programs to keep the public informed regard Liberty Utilities' activities, accomplishments and points of view
  • Assists with the coordination and execution of Liberty Day events
  • Assists in gathering content, videos and photos for marketing materials
  • Assists with bill inserts, bill messages and newsletters that satisfy strict regulatory requirements
  • Coordinates email and/or mail distribution for inserts and newsletters
  • Assists with internal communications that support Company initiatives including email, posters and Company TV screens
  • Creates and posts content for Company website and social media platforms.  Tracks customer traffic
Other Functions
  • Works weekends, holidays and extra time as required
  • Drives Company vehicles and travels occasionally
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures; reports all unsafe activities to the supervisor, Environmental Health Manager and/or Human Resources
  • Perform various other duties as may be assigned
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience from an accredited college or university, preferably in the field of environmental sciences, water resource management, marketing, communication, business administration and/or political science
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience in water conservation activities
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective telephone etiquette and customer relations skills
  • Effectively plan activities, set priorities and identify alternative course of action when needed including matters of sensitive and/or confidential nature
  • Effective interpersonal skills; must be able to work with people at all levels of the organization and also with customers and industry professionals
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and able to multi-task
  • Professional appearance as a front-line representative of the Company
  • Be able to travel for business; may require overnight travel and work during evenings and weekends
