Customer First includes the implementation of SAP and other integrated technologies along with leading practice processes.

We will need you to:

In a program of this magnitude (3+ years, ~$180M) there will be changes during the program which you will be expected to anticipate, assess, and negotiate appropriate adjustments to the program with stakeholders and executive leadership.

Specific areas of focus:

  • Lead the Customer First SAP solution delivery across all functional areas.
  • Be accountable for developing work plans, managing deadlines and coordinating team and vendor activities to ensure project is on schedule per the defined scope.
  • Be accountable for the successful delivery of the project, including the quality of the integrated solution (as measured by testing results), the adoption of the solution by the business, and the achievement of the documented business benefits.
  • Provide direction to the SAP integration manager, and the SAP Planner/Scheduler.
  • Work closely with Solution Strategists and OCM Lead to plan, schedule and co-ordinate the work.
  • Present status updates to the Steering Committee, and provide material related to project performance, vendor performance, and our readiness to accept the solution.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the SAP program.
  • Monitor and report on progress of work to Steering Committee
  • Develop and maintain the master project schedule and schedules of key sub teams
  • Facilitate effective communication through weekly and monthly status reporting to ensure that key stakeholders and senior executives have the most up to date status on work. Work with project management office on project performance reports for senior leadership
  • Monitor and report on project issues and risks.  Work with project teams, vendors and stakeholders to resolve appropriately; including timely escalation to prescribed points of contact
  • Manage the deployment and effective use of methods and tools
  • Manage Change requests related to timeline, scope
  • Work with Project management office to manage budget
  • Help define project resource requirements
  • Contribute to a resource plan that shows the time commitment by role by time period for each project responsible
  • Manage effective collaboration with defined vendors associated to ensure company needs and wants are met

Experience & Abilities you bring:

  • University- Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
  • 5 years + of SAP experience as a SAP Project manager/director
  • 3 years + of full life cycle SAP implementations
  • Functional experience of implementing SAP
  • Experience in SAP Project Methodology and Solution Manager 7.2
  • SAP activate experience required
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Power & Utilities Industry knowledge is an asset
  • Understanding and knowledge for data conversion
  • Understanding and knowledge for testing phase and various tools to capture the results
  • Experienced using project management software like MS Project
  • Excellent communicator at all levels
  • Travel may be necessary in North America
