Purpose

The Benefit analyst is responsible for the administration of day-to-day benefit plans (as assigned) and project management of small to medium and/or long-term concurrent initiatives which support the strategic goals of the Benefits Department. This includes project delivery including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships and communication under direct supervision. This role is responsible for meeting deadlines and goals. Continually strive to improve the efficiency of our Benefits operations across the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Administers policies and procedures to support day-to-day benefit activities.
  • Lead, coordinate and draft communications (e.g., for employees, managers, vendors etc.).
  • Prepare responses to employee issues as needed.
  • Observe and suggest continuous improvements for the Benefits processes and programs.
  • Prepare and maintain desktop procedures for Benefits Administration processes.

Benefits Projects

  • Act as project manager for benefits related projects as assigned; including initiation, planning, execution, implementation and post implementation activities.
  • Define and lead project scope.
  • Prepares recommendations on issues and challenges.
  • Develop, run and report on detailed work plans, project plans, and project schedules.
  • Advance issues around needed resources to supervisor. (e.g., personnel or costs etc.)
  • Set priorities and maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor and report on project activity and progress. Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking.
  • Utilizes functional guides, end users, internal IT staff, other internal business partners and external HR Systems support functions to ensure processes are in control and systems provide accurate information.
  • Ensures all parts of project are documented and communicated such as requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, project plans, policies, procedures, new standards, status and training.
  • Works closely with other parts of the organization, as necessary, to ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Brings recurring issues to manager’s attention and assists in providing direction / suggestions to the resolution of problems. Reports; Audits Perform audits and analysis as necessary. Prepare presentations, reports, and quarterly updates.

Education & Experience

  • University- Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • Currently working towards obtaining a benefits certification and/or CHRP
