Purpose
Promote successful project management within the department by developing and maintaining systems for organizing and analyzing project information, monitoring costs, and regulatory compliance.  Prepare monthly reports for NERC, EPA and state environmental agencies. Purchase materials as requested and coordinate with other departments within the Company.  Effectively use ERP systems.

Accountabilities

  • Participate as a member of the Strategic Projects team, which is responsible for (1) implementing strategic projects that will contribute to the Company’s profitability; (2) reporting; (3) planning; and (4) budgeting.
  • Independently investigate and implement solutions to meet current and future informational/data needs, help optimize the collection and organization of information. Design and develop information systems that can be utilized to easily review and analyze strategic project information.            
  • Assume responsibility for documentation control related to operations, maintenance, and construction of new generation, environmental upgrades, and other strategic projects. 
  • Maintain records required by State and Federal offices, and information needed for insurance purposes pertaining to testing, construction, maintenance and operation records.
  • Help ensure regulatory compliance for company by maintaining and filing necessary information and documentation.
  • With little oversight, perform periodic reporting as necessary, specific tasks may include: Monthly Generation and Environmental Report, NERC Reporting, various Environmental Compliance reports
  • Serve as a primary contact on regulatory matters between the strategic project team and others.  Assume primary responsibility of coordination of data requests and consolidate responses to data requests relating to strategic project construction, operating, and maintenance costs.
  • Participate in the company’s strategic planning for environmental and regulatory compliance pertaining to new regulations and projects.

Education & Experience

  • B. S. Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in computer applications and project execution. 
  • Understanding of company and plant financial, budgeting, and purchasing principles.
  • Can think “outside the box,” and can develop new approaches to products, strategies or problem solving.
  • Understands financial analysis and uses it as a management tool; comprehends the responsibility of every employee to appropriately use the company’s financial resources.
  • Understands personal computers, operating systems, software applications and can effectively use word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Focuses on development and potential actions to achieve the long-term business objectives.
  • Ability to examine and evaluate relevant data and information to discern trends, issues and opportunities and make recommendations to address issues.
  • Can function as critical linkage to other internal company resources or external resources/customers.
