The generation business group (Liberty Power, formerly known as Algonquin Power) owns a portfolio of regulated and long term contracted North American based wind, solar, hydroelectric and thermal powered generating facilities representing more than 1.5+ GW of installed capacity.

Mandate: You will be working closely with the Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and members of the ERM team in administering and improving the risk management, crisis management, and business continuity programs

Job Functions:

  • Support the ongoing implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s business resiliency framework which includes testing of business continuity and crisis management plans and their integration with utility/site level incident and emergency response
  • Coordinate with business units and administer the business continuity plan documentation updates
  • Assist in continuous improvement of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), BCP and crisis management program management including the potential use of new technologies to support program administration
  • Support ERM team involvement with the company’s cross-functional cybersecurity working group
  • Assist with information privacy and data protection initiatives 
  • Enhance ERM team reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A 2nd – 4th year University student enrolled in business, economics, engineering, arts and science or related program with a co-op requirement
  • Working knowledge of enterprise business practices
  • Organizational skills to support the team initiatives and manage multiple priorities
  • Analytical problem solving
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada
  • Valid driver’s license
