Reporting to the HRIS Manager this position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of Algonquin’s HR information systems. This position works to resolve HRIS tickets through troubleshooting, issue identification, requirements gathering, solution development, configuration changes, and testing. The holder is responsible for insuring the smooth functioning of HR Hire to Retire processes within the Ceridian Dayforce system.

The Position also has responsibility for application security and access control. User support, including issue resolution and training, are key responsibilities. HRIS Specialist will also participate is system upgrade testing, as well as other HRIS related projects. Other duties include reporting and time administration.

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for supporting the Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Payroll systems, as well as related integrations.
  • Work to resolve HRIS Tickets through troubleshooting, issue identification, requirements gathering, solution development, testing, and change management.
  • Assist with configuration within Ceridian Dayforce to support day to day operations.
  • Work as part of the HRIS team on system configuration and testing related to new business acquisitions.
  • Participate as needed in Human Resources initiatives and processes including such things as Performance Management.
  • Ensures appropriate level of application security and access control is maintained in line with company security and data privacy standards.
  • Set up single sign on access to Ceridian Dayforce for all new hires in the organization, upon receipt of the email workflow notifications.
  • Participate in all system upgrade project including reviewing changes, impact analysis, and regression testing.
  • Provides second level user support, as well as user training.
  • Insure that all system and user documentation is kept up-to-date.
  • Responsible for weekly time administration duties for the Head Office group, including insuring time cards are completed on time, locking time cards, time card corrections, and time issue follow-up.
  • Responsible for the training of new Ceridian Dayforce time administrators.
  • Responsible for preparation and distribution of monthly reports, as well as testing all scheduled reports to insure that configuration change impacts are identified and adjustments made as required.
  • Produces ad hoc reports for business as needed.
  • Publish regular updates of company organization charts using OrgPublisher and produces ad hoc charts as required.
  • Partner with HR and other Business leaders to define, develop and standardize HR's reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain the HR Intranet and act as a key stakeholder on corporate Intranet projects.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HRIS analyst.
  • Experience with, and a strong understanding of, hire to retire HR processes, including performance management, compensation, and benefits.
  • Solid knowledge of HR data structures and interrelationships within an HRIS solution.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of HR Headcount and other standard reporting.
  • A solid understanding of HR data models and practical experience with HR database administration, including payroll systems.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • SuccessFactors experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with payroll and time collection and related processes.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Experience with HR data Integrations to internal and external business systems.
  • A customer service orientation with a demonstrated track record of partnering with users and business clients to resolve problems and generate creative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi project environment with shifting priorities, and the ability to reassess and reprioritize competing business needs.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, including PeopleSoft would be an asset.
