Mandate:
Responsible for the planning, budgeting, and construction of T&D projects for the Strategic Projects Department. Promote successful project management within the department by developing and maintaining systems for organizing and analyzing project information, monitoring costs, and schedule development. This is a multi-faceted role facing multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure construction projects meet the company’s goals. Effectively use ERP systems.

Job Functions:

  • Participate as a member of the Strategic Projects team, which is responsible for (1) implementing strategic projects that will contribute to the Company’s profitability; (2) reporting; (3)managing of contractors; and (4) planning and budgeting.
  • Use strong project management skills to coordinate all development activities, driving project team members to progress project towards meeting both financial and schedule expectations. Assume responsibility for documentation and cost controls related to construction of T&D facilities, renewables, new generation, environmental upgrades, and other strategic projects as needed.
  • Participate in strategic business initiatives and projects and supervise Liberty Utilities contractor employees to the safe, timely and cost effective completion of work within the area of responsibility while promoting and implementing best practices in order to ensure and verify all work tasks achieve high productivity, quality standards and low costs.
  • Oversee the operational workload of the workforce to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized in order to complete a portfolio of project scopes within a planned timeframe and at budgeted costs. Monitor performance of allocated staff and/or outside resources, including issues relating to standards of work in order to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Independently investigate and implement solutions to meet current and future project management needs, help optimize the collection and organization of information from internal and external stakeholders. Review and ensure accuracy of all project documents and aid in the closeout process. Design and develop information systems that can be utilized to easily review and analyze strategic project information.
  • With little oversight, perform periodic reporting as necessary, specific tasks may include: Monthly Generation and Environmental Report, NERC Reporting, various Environmental Compliance reports. Help ensure regulatory compliance for company by maintaining and filing necessary information and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications: B. S. Degree or equivalent with 5 years’ experience in computer applications and project management. An understanding of regulated utility finance, budgeting, and purchasing principles. A valid driver’s license is required.
