Mandate: The Senior Manager, Talent Development is a key member of the Learning & Development COE, reporting to the Director, Learning and Development. This leader will be accountable for establishing talent processes and development activities to support all leadership levels of the organization from emerging leaders to senior executives. In addition, the Senior Manager, Talent Development will collaborate seamlessly with HR and business teams to support the broader talent strategies, coaching and developing great talent through the full employee lifecycle. You will bring deep Learning and Development expertise and business insight, with specific emphasis on Leadership development, succession planning, coaching for development, HR talent processes, HR analytics, training content development and delivery. Experience in both Talent Management and Adult Learning standard methodologies is a requirement. This role will transform our talent management strategy and framework to meet the needs of our fast-paced rapidly changing environment.

Job Functions:
  • Design, execute and oversee leadership programs in areas such as new leaders, emerging leaders, top talent, senior leaders, succession planning and employee learning and development.
  • Lead end-to-end Leadership program operations including budget, program delivery, evaluation, feedback and measurement of business impact - reporting out to key partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Canada and US and across the globe to ensure an optimized common leadership curriculum and standards across the regions.
  • Evaluate data to measure impact and improve leadership programs; continuously assess delivery process improvement opportunities. Challenge the status quo to drive improved outcomes.
  • Maintain and manage talent action plans, connected to development and succession priorities and make talent recommendations from employee data, used to influence and drive organizational decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in relevant discipline
  • 7-10 years experience in Learning & Development, specifically in designing and facilitating functional, technical and leadership development programs across a wide range of business functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
  • Certified in adult learning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; skilled at building relationships with varied levels of management and Associates; able to influence action and obtain and provide information effectively and tactfully from and to business partners and subject matter experts
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on creative problem solving
  • Ability to adapt and respond to quickly changing priorities
  • Strong project and time management skills, with proven ability to lead many projects and work teams concurrently
  • Strong knowledge of leadership principles and concepts
  • Strong team orientation with focus on team success. Willing and able to support other team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills, both in facilitating training sessions and meetings
  • Passion and strong belief in continuous learning
