Job Functions:

This position is responsible for managing renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electrification projects and programs within the Liberty Utilities Tahoe service territory. The Manager of Clean Energy, Efficiency and E-Mobility will develop and oversee implementation of residential, commercial, municipal and school energy audits and measures, including the Energy Savings Assistance Program for income-qualified households; electric vehicle (auto and bus) charging infrastructure deployment; the solar incentive program (rooftop solar); and local renewable project cultivation (i.e.solar and battery energy storage). This position will manage a Clean Energy, Efficiency, and E-Mobility Project Coordinator, as well as energy audit and weatherization contractors.

Manage Energy Efficiency, Energy Savings Assistance, and Multifamily EE Programs
  • Manage, evaluate energy efficiency and weatherization contractors and partners
  • Work closely with regulatory team to develop program goals and budgets, monitor progress, report results
  • Design, oversee outreach plan to maximize customer participation in EE, ESAP offerings
  • Develop plan to implement pilot Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program
  • Manage LED Streetlight conversion program; Work with municipalities on program specifications
  • Manage energy efficiency projects for large commercial, municipal, school accounts, and projects
  • Accountable for capital budget
  • Responsible for managing the Clean Energy, Efficiency and E-Mobliity local team
Manage Electric Vehicle Program
  • Design, oversee DC Fast Charger rebate program, including managing RFP process.
  • Develop, manage residential and small commercial EV charger rebate program
  • Manage school and state park EV charging program
  • Oversee municipal bus mobility hub project
Manage Solar Incentive Program
  • Promote program in community, including hosting workshops
  • Consult with schools, businesses, municipalities to develop projects
  • Review, approve program applications
Cultivate local renewable energy and battery storage projects
  • Work closely with Business Development team to identify, develop renewable project sites within service territory
  • Lead community outreach around proposed projects
Promote Liberty Utilities renewable, efficiency and electrification programs and projects
  • Coordinate with communications director to raise customer participation in, profile of sustainability programs
  • Provide content for media, social media communications
  • Provide content for media, social media communications
  • Host public forums to raise awareness of programs

People Development and Training

  • Develop direct report(s).
  • Provide information/training as necessary.

Knowledge, Education, Experiences and Other Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years relevant experience in utility industry.
  • 5-10 years experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy activities is preferred.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and methodologies of energy efficiency.
  • Have general knowledge of energy efficiency and electric vehicles.
  • Be willing to attend on-site and off-site meetings and conferences, and pursue continuing education to stay current with related issues and regulations.
  • Requires effective telephone etiquette and customer relations skills.
  • Must have knowledge, experience, and proficiency in computer operations, especially internet and personal computers.
  • Must have a minimum of intermediate skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate in English with others including internal and external customers under normal and adverse conditions.
  • Possess effective public speaking communication skills.
  • Must have good organizational, analysis, problem-solving, and math skills.
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work with people at all levels of the organization. Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. This includes, but is not limited to, those to whom the position reports to, supervisors, coworkers, public, customers, etc.
  • Must be self-motivated and multi-task oriented.
  • Able to work independently and function in a team environment.
  • Prepare Company  annual reports.
  • Works weekends, holidays, and extra time as required.
  • Drives Company vehicles.Travels occasionally.
  • Performs various other duties as may be assigned.
  • Location can either be in North or South Lake Tahoe.
